We are pleased to invite you to the modernAKIS networking event as part of the AKISConnect webinar series on Wednesday (WoW), hosted by modernAKIS and ATTRACTISS:

“AKIS in action: Diversifying farm income – Providing advice and training for new energy solutions”

The event will take place online via Zoom on Wednesday,May 13, 2026, from 10h to 11h30 CET.

As part of our ongoing efforts in modernAKIS to interconnect Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) actors across Europe, this event serves as a platform to share valuable insights and foster collaboration within the agricultural community. 

This session showcases how alternative and renewable energy solutions can create new income opportunities for farmers. It will highlight advisory and training approaches that support farmers in adopting agrivoltaics, developing small-scale biomass systems, and integrating climate-smart energy models into their businesses. Together, these insights demonstrate how AKIS actors can empower farmers to turn energy into a reliable additional revenue stream.

This event will feature the following speakers and their presentations:

• Farming with Power: Structuring energy solutions for farmers 

              Fien Van Esch, Energy Consultant at Boerenbond, Belgium

• Agricultural Energy Advice in Austria - Focus on comprehensive energy concepts and energy communities

             Klaus Engelmann, Advisor Energy, Climate and Bioresources at Styrian Chamber of Agriculture, Austria

• Turning manure into value: How farmers can engage with biogas systems in Finland

             Anu Tikkainen, Agricutlural Economist and Project Manager at Savonie UAS, Finland
